The great thing about a Gmail account is that it gives you a lot of space (7+ GB). The downside is that you will have to delete Gmail emails in a big quantity, sooner or later! Spam emails (by the way, did you protect your account?), regular emails (by the way, did you prioritize them?), forwards, useless BIG attachments, tons of emails you don’t get rid of will heap in your Gmail account month after month, year after year. Google gave us a big power. The power not to clear our email account on a daily basis anymore, but it also gave us a curse! In fact, we are so comfortably self-confident that we won’t have to deal with space limit for a long time that we tend to forget to trash our emails. But this oversight will give us more than a headache as we will have to deal with thousands of emails in one shot! The result? Our Gmail account will run out of space, mostly due to those big files attached to our incoming or sent emails. What follows is a simple solution to this “huge” problem! Continue reading »

A few days ago, Google rolled out an interesting feature which allows someone else to manage and read your private Gmail emails on your Gmail account. Such a feature is not new at all. In fact, it is available on Google Apps accounts, but Google has decided to extend this opportunity to Gmail accounts as well, thanks to the new Gmail delegation feature. But why would you like to let someone else to gain access to your private Gmail? The reason is quite simple! Just image a situation where you don’t have access to the Internet, but you still need to read your emails and reply to some of them. If you do not wish to give your private password to somebody else because you think it is too risky, the only option you have got is to use Gmail Delegation feature that will allow a person of your choice to get into your account, safely! Of course, you will be able to check what the guy did when you “were not there” and see, for example, how any times and when he signed into your Gmail account, thanks to a little link located at the bottom of your Gmail page which will show you the recent activity on your email account. But, let’s see how to setup this new feature. Continue reading »

The new Facebook layout has introduced a row of five recently tagged photos at the top of the profile page. However, a lot of users want to hide the row for privacy issues as you might guess. Now, the problem here is that it is really difficult to spot the right settings which allow you to remove the new feature, and apparently Facebook users are getting mad at it. But let me tell you something more about this new “not-so-exciting” feature. The row of tagged photos shows latest tagged photos or photos from profile picture album. Such photos are visible to all those friends and users selected in the “Photos and videos you’re tagged in” option under the Privacy settings available on your profile. Right now there is not option to turn off the row, despite whatever the Facebook Privacy page says about the fact that you are in control of your Facebook profile! Facebook didn’t add any checkbox or button to disable it. However you can tweak it. In fact, you can opt-in and opt-out certain photos and pictures from appearing in the infinite scroll row! A lot of users want to know how to undelete accidentally deleted contacts in Windows Live Messenger 2011 (WLM2011) after they got aware that their contacts were missing. Again, the latest Microsoft chat client is giving its users a lot of issues. After the Contacts always appear offline and the nickname displaying your real name issues, it seems that users are experiencing difficulties about how to spot the right settings in order to retrieve deleted contacts in Windows Live Messenger 2011. The contact list lets you retrieve and get an immediate glance your friends you are in contact with. Thanks to it you can easily chat, share stuff and also have a real HD video chat! As a general rule of thumb it is always better to backup such a friend list to avoid nasty surprises! To backup your contact list, simply go to your Windows Live Messenger – Contacts – Save instant messaging contacts. This will let you save a .ctt file on your PC containing your friends addresses. Of course this little trick is only valid when you have not messed with your contact list! However, Microsoft well aware of this issue, has given you a second chance! In fact, nested among the messenger settings there is a kind of “Hey! I changed my mind!” option which will restore whatever you did with your contacts! Continue reading »
