untabbed

One of the most annoying things when it comes to opening multiple search results on Google is that you have to open multiple windows or tabs in order to have the main Google search available. In fact, after a Google Search, if you click on a search result you will loose your previous search as it will be replaced by the website or blog you decided to open. This is very annoying, above all if you need to open a lot of websites or links to spot what you are looking for. Let’s see how to solve this issue.

Untabbed is a Search Engine (Powered by Google) which does something unique. It lets you open multiple websites and blogs on the same window or tab where your Google Search is located! In fact, if you preform a Google Search on Untabbed and click on a result, the main Google page won’t be substituted by the website you decided to explore. Untabbed will open a new window inside the window where your Google Search is located! Other features include:

  • Open mini windows without flipping between tabs.
  • Resize or maximize the mini windows.
  • Open unlimited windows.
  • No Google ads on your Google Searches!
  • Clear and simple design.

One Comment to “Open Multiple Google Search Results on the Same Window or Page”

YOU WROTE: “…after a Google Search, if you click on a search result you will loose your previous search as it will be replaced by the website or blog you decided to open. This is very annoying, above all if you need to open a lot of websites or links to spot what you are looking for. ”

MY RESPONSE: Not if you go to Google’s “Search Settings – Global Preferences” screen and specify in the “Results Window” section to “Open search results in a new browser window” (which, when in a tabbed environment, simply opens a new tab…

…and where’s the problem with that? Have even TABS, now, become too much to keep track of? Is there no limit?

I’ve tried UNTABBED before, and all I found it was irritating. It tries to display the resulting page in an entirely too narrow window; and some sites which refuse to be displayed in a frame, for example, tend to break out of the UNTABBED paradigm…

…resulting in an irritating “are you sure you want to navigate away from untabbed” pop-up dialog.

I’m sorry. If you look back at other postings I’ve made, I am supportive and tend to try to just enlarge on what you’ve written, and help make it better.

But this one… I dunno. I can’t, for the life of me, see UNTABBED’s point…

…especially considering what I’ve described above.

    Maybe it’s just me.

As usual, thanks for the heads-up, though. It’s an interesting concept…

…but, on balance, it’s kinda’ pointless, and gets in the way more than it helps.

Or so it is my two cents worth…

…which my ex-wife will happily attest is probably ALL its worth. [grin]
