If you need to view and read document created on Microsoft Office or Openoffice on the fly, I have found a very simple, (and above all free) document viewer for you! Latest browsers are able to locate your position thanks to their new geolocation features. However, on Firefox you can change and fake your geolocation in order to show whatever location you wish to other people. Basically, you will be able to show yourself wherever you want in the world to other users! Sure, if you do not want to show your location you can always turn off geolocation, but wouldn’t be better to have some fun and pretend to surf the Internet or write an email from London, New York, Honk Kong etc. ? Geolocation is a feature that makes Firefox location-aware. It works in a very simple way. Whenever you visit a location aware-website, Firefox will ask if you want to share your location. Consequently, “if you consent, Firefox gathers information about nearby wireless access points and your computer’s IP address”. Let’s see how to change your location thanks to a little addon! This article will show you how you can retrieve your AOL (American On Line) emails from any email client that supports SMTP settings (as well as POP3 settings, of course). The procedure is really easy and doesn’t require any special skill (see Hotmail POP3 settings). The reason why a lot of users decide to “download” their emails on email clients such Mozilla Thunderbird or Microsoft Outlook is really simple. If you don’t have a lot of time, because for example you have to catch a plane, you can not sit down and read all of your emails using the traditional webmail client. You rather want to download all your emails to your computer and read them later while you are on the plane, train, bus etc using your small laptop or iPad. This guide will show you how to set any email client using SMTP and POP3 authenitication. Continue reading »

Lately, there has been a lot of talks about security and Social networks. That’s why Twitter (as well as other websites such as Facebook and email services ) has implemented a neat feature to turn on secure HTTPS (SSL) connection. Such option is very useful above all if you login to Twitter using unsecure/public Internet connection such Airport free hotspots etc. According to Twitter blog: “Using HTTPS for your favorite Internet services is particularly important when using them over unsecured WiFi connections”. Sure, you can access to Twitter secure HTTPS connection by heading to https://twitter.com, but Twitter users wanted a simple option able to turn on HTTPS permanently, kind of “set-it-and-forget-it” feature. Let’s see how to enable SSL secure connection on Twitter in a couple of steps. Continue reading »

It is very common to the the dreaded “Aw, Snap!” error message on Google Chrome while surfing the Internet. In some case you get such error on every single page thus making your Internet surfing really impossible. Well, it is a fact that Google Chrome suffers from weird bugs or multiple unresolved issues other browsers seems not to be affected by. Some of these problems have got a long, long story and have not been solved even with latest Google Chrome versions (an example is the bug which prevents Chrome from opening email accounts). The Chrome error treated on this guide comes with the following warning: “Aw, snap! Something went wrong while displaying this webpage. To continue, press reload or go to another page.” There are different reasons which may trigger this message such as conflicting applications installed on your computer or incompatible extensions. These are the most common causes which can be solved in a few steps. However, it is not so easy as it seems, above all when your Google Chrome starts displaying such error on every page. This tutorial will show you how to fix and solve majority of issues to allow you continue surfing websites and blogs. Some of these fixes are provided by forums I have visited where other users posted their solutions. Continue reading »
