Recently, while browsing the Internet I found a nice, incredible popup blocker extension (called adblocker) for our fast Google Chrome. It is useless to tell you that one of the most annoying things on the Internet are advertisements which are on websites and blogs. OK, for many bloggers they are the unique source of their earnings and I can bear it. In my case, what I really can not stand are popups ads and surveys which literally are pestering the Internet preventing the regular user from having a “user-friendly” Internet experience. Sure, you can always trust on Google Chrome embedded pop-up blocker, but sometimes, believe me this is not sufficient! Now, on the Internet there are a lot of free solutions to block popups but well, what I have got for you is really, really the best for your Google Chrome! Continue reading »

We are all accustomed to use Google on a daily basis. We use it because it is fast and accurate but, have you ever though of Google as a sloppy, slow and human search engine? Of course not! In fact, the good thing about Google is that it is quite fast and performing and, as a consequence, our searches, our requests are returned almost in “real-time”. Lately, thanks to the Caffeine update, we ever get result as we time which is even more that “real-time”. But what happens if Google was represented by real people, who manually submitted our requests to the search engine? What if such people, or users, behaved in a very “human” way and, just like we do, they made mistakes, misspelling errors or worst, what if they were lazy and incompetent and responded to your needs in a mediocre way? Sploppy Google is the first attempt to reply to such questions by showing you a Google ruled by a humanistic, lazy and comfortable behaviour. Continue reading »

If you have been using a computer for a long time or even for a year, chances are that you have definitely heard about defragmentation. Yes it is that process which is extremely essential and should be performed at least once a month, if not every two weeks. It is also that process which we forget to perform each time and the hard disk keeps getting fragmented and thus becomes slower. Fragmentation occurs if the operating system is unable to allocate a contiguous memory location to a file, which is then stored in smaller pieces across the hard disk. The process of defragmentation tries to counter this by bringing together all file fragments and also grouping the free space together through compaction. The disk defragmenter that comes with Windows 7 is great but lacks the shedule and automation features. You can use third party software for the same, but what is the need if the inbuilt software can do the job. However, if you directly schedule the disk defragmenter in the Task Scheduler, it merely starts the disk defragmenter and not the actual defragmentation. So, let us see how to automate and schedule defragmentation in Windows 7. Continue reading »
In Windows operating systems such as Windows 7, Vista and Windows XP it is very common to force kill some process which refuses to shut down and terminate by itself. Other times instead, a particular application doesn’t not respond or has stopped working and needs to be manually killed, so to speak. This quick tutorial will show you how to brute force a process to kill and close itself right away. If you don’t know what I am talking about, you have to know that a Windows process is a program or application instance that is being executed by the software itself in order to work correctly. Processes usually deal with the computer memory, operating system descriptors, computer and user permissions and other deep computer resources and threads. That’s why if a process doesn’t close and end properly you won’t be able to shut the computer or the application down. Continue reading »
Suspicious.Mystic is another virus/trojan which aims to detect other malicious software that has been morphed by attackers. This guide will show how to remove it easily. Before starting, I would like to spend a couple of words about this “unorthodox” virus. In fact, differently from other traditional malware such as Thinkpoint and Antivirus Action, Suspicious.Mystic won’t look for security holes in your computer. Its main goal is find other viruses, spyware, trojan and general malware which is already “available” on your computer. Once it detects one of these threats, it will install itself on the machine and will use them to “promote” itself and convince the user to buy fake antiviruses by displaying scareware such as fake virus warnings. Let’s see how to remove and delete it by using a proper software removal and an easy manual procedure on Windows 7, Windows Vista and XP. Continue reading »
One of the coolest features in Google Chrome is the built-in Chrome Translation bar that automatically asks you if you want to translate a foreign-written page to your own language. Such feature, as said, is embedded directly to the Google browser and users do not have any way to manually tweak it. The downside of this useful feature is that sometimes it doesn’t manage/miss to detect a foreign webpage thus failing to ask you if you want to translate it. To add insult to injury, when the translate bar stops working and/or doesn’t not appear, you can not even use the other option to force translation the webpage. I am talking about the option that can be accessed by right-clicking on a website or blog and, from the menu, select the “Translate to English” link, for example. It won’t work too as it will be completely grayed-out. Le’s see how to fix this issue. Continue reading »
Gmail gives you the opportunity to store as many emails and attachments as you want on its account. That’s why it is important to know the best email search queries and shortcuts to use on your Gmail! In fact, with such a big storage limit, there is a more than real and substantial risk to loose your most important emails and files attached to them. This brief guide will show you for example, how to use quick Gmail “operators” which will let you find whatever email you want based on the parameter you specified! In this way it will be even possible for you not to label your email (in case you are lazy) because from a single word or a small sentence you will be able to recover whole email discussions, sender’s names, email addresses and relatives files! Before starting you’ll have to login to your Gmail account. Right after that, in order to use shortcuts and operators, you will have to type directly into the search field located on the upper left side of your Gmail account. Continue reading »
Facebook gives you the opportunity to block people from accessing your Facebook profile. But how do you know if somebody has blocked you on his Facebook profile? Apparently, there is not easy reply to this question as Facebook doesn’t provide you any feature or option to play with. The reason of this choice is rather obvious. In fact, Facebook privacy guarantees all its users a good share of privacy even though Facebook itself seems to go against this logic. In fact, the whole goal of Facebook is to show your private facts on the Internet. Let’s see how to find out if somebody has blocked you on Facebook thanks to a little, dirty trick!
