The new Yahoo Messenger (and Windows Live Messenger) lets you store and download its chat/message history locally, on your hard disk (or to your USB pen) so that if anything bad happens to your Yahoo account or computer, you will manage to backup and restore the full chat sessions back to a new computer. The downside of this interesting feature is that, once activated and turned on, it will permanently leave your “footprint” on your computer. Basically, anyone (even if he doesn’t own your Yahoo username and password) will be able to recover your chat sessions or message history and see what you typed. This brief guide might be divided into two different mine-guides. The first one will show you how to download and get back your Yahoo Chat history by turning on a specific option. The second one will show you how to find the exact folder and path thanks to which you will be able to localize where you conversation are store. In this way, you will be able to manually delete them in order to protect your privacy from nosy users and hackers. Continue reading »

An old, incompatible extension might have corrupted your Chrome profile, an incorrect setup or setting might have compromised your Chrome profile etc. As a consequence, most of the time, you won’t manage to open Chrome, while on other occasions, the browser might return you with the famous “Aw Snap” error or “Your profile could not be opened correctly” messages. Here is the easy tutorial to fix this issue. Continue reading »
As you know, latest smartphones have got interesting features, most of which are not available on computer and laptops yet. On of this is the Google Voice Search (text-to-speech) that lets you search the Internet by speaking on the phone mic. The app will automatically convert your voice into text and will search Google for the keywords you just said. Wouldn’t you like to have such feature on your Chrome browser (Firefox browser has already got its voice search addon)? Just image searching the Internet without having to type anything. Just talk to the computer and you are done! Well, it looks like your dream has come true. In fact, Google has developed an interesting extension for Google Chrome that thanks to its text-to-speech feature is able to convert your speech into text and search the Internet for you! This hack (and the related Firefox addon) is really incredible, I have go to tell you. But what left me speechless is that it works for real! But why would you like to disguise yourself into a GoogleBot? Why would you like to cheat and trick websites, blogs and forums into thinking you are a GoogleBot spidering their web pages? Well, the most simple explanation is that in this way nobody will recognize you. Basically, apart from the IP address which will be left as it is, you won’t left any footprint on those websites logs because you will look like a regular, true Google robot! But, of course there is more at stake here. As you know, a lot of forums don’t allow you to see and read their contents or whole threads unless you are a registered member. With this trick you will be able to bypass and skip registrations because all hidden content will be completely visible to you! Continue reading »
This guide will show you how to install and run old, incompatible or outdated addons (extensions) on Firefox recent versions without using any third-party software. Differently from other guides available on the Internet, this tutorial will not tweak Firefox into thinking that it is about to run a compatible addon by editing or bypassing the compatibility check . This time we will hack the outdated old addon itself by making it compatible with your Firefox installed version! Such a tutorial is slightly difficult (but not too much!) but the results will be longstanding as they won’t be affected by further and new Firefox releases! If unsure, check this special Firefox plugin check page to know if the plugin you are about to hack has been updated or not! Continue reading »
Calculators can be found in very unexpected places! Last years (or even more) I wrote about nice Google tricks where, among the other things, I showed you how to use Google as a calculator. However, apart from the default calculator tool available on your Windows 7, Vista, XP etc. there are other places and software you can use as a calculator to amaze your friends or use to calculate numbers as well as equations on your computer! Nowadays there are a lot of fake websites on the Internet trying to deceive you in order to inject viruses or malware on your computer or convince you to type your credit card number or private data on their fake forms to steal your money or worst, your identity. I am talking about phishing websites or websites disguised to look alike to bank or shopping websites, for example. What hackers do in these cases is to download the whole original websites and upload it to their server. The only thing that they can not do (more or less) is to match the original website address. Of course, on the Internet there are hundreds of free software able to detect such scams and fraud by alerting you in different ways. However, if you are looking for a simple, thus effective way to know if a website is fake or not, I have got a nice piece of Javascript code that will help you in one click! Continue reading »
Sometimes, right after updating Firefox browser to latest versions (Firefox 4 and further versions), your installed addons might stop working for no apparent reasons. Even if you uninstall and reinstall Firefox itself you won’t manage to fix the issue. Such problem is quite widespread and make a lot of users wonder if such a problem is a Firefox bug more than a random issue. Here is the quick fix and solution to reactivate them back!
