Nowadays there are a lot of fake websites on the Internet trying to deceive you in order to inject viruses or malware on your computer or convince you to type your credit card number or private data on their fake forms to steal your money or worst, your identity. I am talking about phishing websites or websites disguised to look alike to bank or shopping websites, for example. What hackers do in these cases is to download the whole original websites and upload it to their server. The only thing that they can not do (more or less) is to match the original website address. Of course, on the Internet there are hundreds of free software able to detect such scams and fraud by alerting you in different ways. However, if you are looking for a simple, thus effective way to know if a website is fake or not, I have got a nice piece of Javascript code that will help you in one click!
- Open your favorite browser.
- Navigate to the website you want to check.
- On the browser address bar, replace the website address with this code:
- Press Enter.
