I have already written on how to remove ads from Windows Live Messenger 2011. However, a lot of users are still complaining about the nagging advertisements located on the chat box/window footer. Such ads is nothing else than a banner located at the bottom of the chat conversation window and displays different kind of images and ads. Despite there are a lot of solutions available on the Internet able to disable and turn off ads from Windows Live Messenger 2011 (WLM2011) the one I have just found will let you achieve the same result without hacking the chat client or installing any third-party software on your Windows 7 or Vista. In fact, from within Windows Live Messenger settings there is a nifty option that, if disabled, will hide the ads banner right away. In my opinion such option was not meant to remove any ads as its description doesn’t refer to them at all. In fact, it looks like more a bug than anything else. Continue reading »
Lately, Facebook is undergoing to a lot of changes and makups meant to renew some aspect of its old and default user interface. The most relevant and important change on Facebook has radically modified one of its most used feature. I am talking about Facebook Groups. As a consequence, users will have to decide between two different options in order to migrate to the new layout: Archive mode or Upgrade mode. Such modes are not obvious and automatic for all groups. In fact, the Archive mode is available for everybody, while the Upgrade mode is only available to few Groups depending on the number of discussions and on group activity. Let’s see what means to have your group archived and how to upgrade to the new Facebook Group format. Continue reading »
Windows Live Mail 2011, like majority of email clients, lets you add a signature at the end of your emails. Such signature contains important information about yourself and/or your activity/company and firm such as your name and surname, job title, you phone number, fax etc. There are two signature formats: text and html file. The former, as its name suggests, lets you add plain text at the end of your emails, the latter lets you upload a html file in order to have an image, a picture, a photo, or a badge for example, as signature. In case you have fancy and elaborated signatures in your Windows Live mail 2011, you might wish to save them all to your computer to spare yourself from the pain to create new signature from scratch. In this tutorial I will show you how to add, backup and restore your txt and html signature in a few easy steps in Windows 7. Continue reading »

In Windows 7 there are a lot of ways to do the same thing. That’s the case of the shutdown and restart function that in this article can be optimized by creating a shortcut on the desktop. To tell you the truth I have already written about such a topic in the past (reboot and shortcut desktop solution). The only difference is that in this tutorial we will use a different Windows command to perform a quick reboot of the Windows operating system. But when does this shortcut come in handy? If you need to restart your computer often because, for example, you install a lot of applications then this article is for you, definitely. But you might find this shortcut extremely useful when your computer gets stuck or you can not access your Start menu or if you need a quick way to turn off your computer without the hassle to go through the Start menu etc. Continue reading »
One of the most useful features in Google Chrome is without any doubt the autofill search suggestion that is available on the URL address bar. However, you might wish to turn it off. In fact, some users find such a feature quite annoying and prefer to search the Internet from Google and not from the address bar. Furthermore, the auto fill search also shows you the past searches, visited websites as well as the keywords you typed. This, as you might guess might be quite embarrassing! Let’s see how to disable and turn off such a feature from your Google Chrome. Continue reading »
