windows-10Some Windows 10 users are reporting, all over the board, a weird error message. The message comes right before the PC shut off by itself. Here is the message: “KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED igdkmd64.sys“. Despite some users believe that it has to do with incompatible hardware and drives, it came out that the error message had to do with something else. Let’s see how to solve it.

The above error message usually shows up because Windows 10 users have installed an antivirus. In this case I am talking about McAfee AV. Sometimes, even after uninstalling it, the issue seems to show up again and you will even experience BSOD. This is due to the fact that the uninstalling procedure leaves behind some leftovers that causes instabilities in your operating system.

In order to be sure to have removed all the McAfee AV files, download and install the tool you will find in the following page. The tool is provided directly by McAfee (maybe they are very aware of the issue).

Here is the link to the page

When you open the page you will see that it contains a lot of information on how to correctly uninstall McAfee Antivirus. Scroll down and install  MCPR (McAfee Consumer Product Removal)
