Hp has recently made official the forthcoming launch of its new thin TouchSmart 2 desktop computer which will be distinguished by its touch screen and, as its name suggests, its thin design which promises you to get rid of all those annoying cables and wires giving you a lot of room on your desktop. The ultraportable war has started a long time ago and a lot of companies, which till some months ago were completely unknown to most people, have started producing their cheap laptops. Today, it is the turn of 3K Computers to release its new ultraportable laptop called RazorBook 400 mini-notebook PC. It looks like Asus is getting something under its skin for cheap laptops and, as a matter of fact, it has just released its new affordable machine called Asus X80LE. Despite the fact that this new laptop is meant for the European market which is usually very picky and diffident, it stands out for its incredible features which make it a worth competitor of the well-known Asus Eee even though it is not an ultraportable computer. The well known computer company Asus has recently unveiled its new ultraportable laptop called Acer Aspire One which is devoted to become another Asus Eee’s competitor. Let’s see together its main features:

Another ultraportable laptop has been spotted in the wild. As a matter of fact MSI has recently released its new laptop called MSI Wind which promises to be a valid alternative to the Asus Eee. But let’s see together its most relevant features:

After the huge success of the cheap Asus Eee laptop, the Taiwan company has decided to make a desktop version of it. Its name will be Asus Ebox and will be distinguished by its cheap price and its features. As a matter of fact Ebox will feature:
Atom-based chip.
2GB of RAM as standard.
160GB hard drive.
Linux operating system.
Asus Ebox should be officially unveiled June 3 at Computex in Taiwan and will be available around the third quarter of this year. Its price is set around $300 - $400. Stay tuned for more infos.
Samsung has just unveiled its new, fast and roomy solid state drive whose capacity is 256 GB (which is the biggest capacity available for a SSD so far). Samsung wants to make clear that its new SSD is “the world’s fastest and largest capacity 2.5-inch, MLC-based SSD with SATA II Interface.” It will be fully available in Septemer for a price which I fear won’t be that cheap at all.
