For those of you guys who have been waiting for this moment, well, I am proud to announce that WiiWare channel on Wii is now LIVE! At least in the States. Finally, you can download original games to your Wii, and I am not speaking about the ones already available on the Virtual Console. I am talking about brand new games which, albeit they are not novelties at all, let you spend some carefree time before your TV for a very cheap, reasonable price or Wiipoints. Here are some titles Continue reading »

A couple of days before the official launch in the States of the Wii Fit, New Yorkers not only will enjoy it, but they will try it out thanks to a wonderful party in Central Park, courtesy of Nintendo. Just in case you don’t know what a Wii Fit is because you live in a cave, here is a quick excerpt from the Nintendo Website: “Wii Fit is a combination of fitness and fun, designed for everyone, young and old. By playing Wii Fit a little every day, you, your friends, and your family can work towards personal goals of better health and fitness. Wii Fit includes four training modes and more than 40 exercises and activities designed to help improve body balance and fitness.”

That’s one of those news which could make somebody really happy or really thunderstruck! The endless war between the two giants namely Sony and Microsoft has come to an end, at least in Europe. In fact a few days ago Sony stated “We have sold more PlayStation 3s throughout Europe than Xbox 360 even though they launched 16 months before us.” Mr Reeves, head of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, also said 12 million PSP handheld consoles and 48 million PlayStation 2s had been sold in Europe. Anyway despite all this fanfare both Sony and Microsoft are well behind the fabulous Nintendo Wii.

So, it looks like Wii-things are getting closer and closer as far as homebrew is concerned. As a matter of fact, after the Zelda hack which lets you run tons of homebrew stuff, now it seems that some guy managed to create a homebrew channel. The Wii-guy who did it is called Bushing and managed to create a built-in support for loading ELF and DOL homebrew executables via USBGecko and TCP/IP, in addition to support for loading them on SD cards. Watch the Wiideo now!

Do you remember the Zelda Wii hack? It required a GameCube slot which, for some of you guys, could not be very easy to find, above all if you are lazy brats. Well, now with this hack you have no excuse anymore. In fact Zelda Wii hack can now run on a regular SD card. No fancy installation is required, now major hack, no special knowledge. Just drop a small file into the SD, put the little card into the Wii slot and you are done. For more info watch the video.

If you live in Europe (but soon in the States too) you are going to enjoy the old, good Commodore 64 games that made you so happy when you were 15 years old, on your Wii virtual console. The guys at Nintendo will start with the classic game International Karate that will costs around 500 Wii point, and will continue with other arcades in the near future. Personally speaking I love Commodore 64 games, but spending some bucks on something you can find on the Internet for free, seems a little too exaggerated!
