Modern web browsers such as Internet Explorer and Firefox have, among their features, a kind of auto-completion which is able to add the www. and the .com part of the URL. Let’s see an example:
- Let’s say that you want to visit Web Talk (what a chance!).
- In the address bar of your browser type: tlk
- Now press CTRL+ENTER and the browser will add www. and .com before and after tlk, respectively.

If you use Internet Explorer 7, after a while or right away if you are particularly paranoid, you may want to delete all the junk which the browser has gathered while surfing and that, most of the time, may reveal other people what you visited and what did while you were at the computer. The classic solution is to delete all the temporary Internet files in IE7. If you want to make this procedure automatic you can use these nice pieces of codes, called batch files, which clean everything in one click. Here are the most important codes:
- Delete temporary Internet Files (all of them): RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 8
- Delete Cookies: RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 2
- Delete History: RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 1
- Delete Passwords: RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 32
- Delete everything. Don’t leave any footprint in my computer: RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 4351
To run these batch files it is sufficient to:
- Click Start.
- Copy and past the code in the Search Bar (right under All Programs), press Enter.
The codes provided work on Vista and XP

Here is a brief excerpt: ” The Google Earth Plug-in and its JavaScript API let you embed Google Earth, a true 3D digital globe, into your web pages. Using the API you can draw markers and lines, drape images over the terrain, add 3D models, or load KML files, allowing you to build sophisticated 3D map applications. If you have an existing Maps API site, you can 3D-enable your page with as little as one line of code.” To download it, visit this page

Apple has just released the all-new Safari browser which has reached its 3.1 version. Along with this new release, Apple states Safari is the fastest browser in the world, since it is 1.9 times faster than IE 7 [Internet Explorer 7] and 1.7 times faster than Firefox 2. Personally speaking, I believe the guys at Apple, but I would also like to hear other independent reports since, before playing the big trumpet to the world, it is always better having some more solid facts at hand, and possibly coming from indipendent sources, right?. But let’s see in details some of the most important Safari’s features:
- Better bookmark organisation.
- Pop-up blocker.
- Integrated Find banner, to look website and whatever you want directly from the browser.
- Multi-tab functionality.
- Auto-fill, to fill-in form in a breeze.
- Built-in RSS.
- Private Browsing, to keep your surfing private.
- Better security
- Javascript is also reported to be faster (up to 6 times)
- “And best of all, Safari supports the latest audio, video and animation standards for an industry-leading Web 2.0 experience.”
